Life lessons from Audrey Hepburn ~ 🎀🎬🤍

Updated: Dec 23, 2022

Audrey Hepburn was more than just an iconic Hollywood actress, a model for one of the top designer brands, a UNICEF ambassador, and a wonderful mother, but a human being that has left a remarkable impact on the world. She has enamored the hearts of people across the globe and achieved pivotal status throughout her career.

While there are many poignant qualities of what made Audrey Hepburn successful, we can look for her as inspirational as many women did back then.

Will look at the few secrets of Audrey Hepburn and show you some of her tips on the beauty of life.

See the beauty in the eyes

Audrey’s doe-eyes were a beauty staple for her, her fluttery lashes bring a playful but wondrous look that can make anyone fall in love with her.

To keep her lashes full and wispy, after applying mascara, she would use a separate pin needle to each individual strand.

We don’t recommend using a pin needle, but you can get the same effect with the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara available at Sephora.

for an alternative but affordable option, we would consider the Maybelline sky-high mascara

Actuality, in her eyes, she always seeks the good in people and you should too.

A signature flair

We talk before about the power of fragrances, (click this link for more) but what we didn't know that Audrey had a signature perfume for herself!

Created by Givenchy (one of her closest best friends) this lovely fragrance features notes of orange blossom, jasmine, and tuberose.

Funny enough, when Givenchy asked permission from Audrey to produce the scent, she claims Je vous l’interdis!

Translation: I forbid you.

The exact words of proclamation inspired the name of the perfume.

Kindness is most attractive

“For attractive lips, speaks words of kindness”

Audrey was known for having a kindred heart. It’s one thing many people notice about her. You want to be known for having a good heart. Treat others how you want to be treated and don’t be the bigger person. Show yourself and the surrounding people with respect and the rest will follow.

“God kissed her on the cheek and there she was.” - Billy Wilder on Audrey Hepburn.

Knowledge is power

Beauty meets brains. It’s important to educate yourself on topics and keep up with the latest news. Always keep your facts true to the source and have an open mind on real-world issues. You're not only learning more but also improving yourself.

Audrey Hepburn was a fan of literature. Her favorite book of all time is Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden.

Exercise your way in the world

“For a slim figure share your food with the poor”

Audrey would go for a walk, ate a balanced diet, and stayed hydrated, but one thing she did as a form of exercise (one of her proudest achievements) was her work with UNICEF. From there, she traveled across the globe and helped children in poverty, proving them with living necessities such as clothing, food, and basic education.

Lastly,

Make happiness a priority

Life isn’t all just Tiffany’s and Paris. We can always outweigh the positive instead of the negatives. This will not only make you feel better, but changes a new perspective of how you view life and live to the fullest. As her son, Luca Dotti, recounts, “She had more than a positive outlook.”

"Every time that she found something new, or went to a market, or got a new recipe, she wasn't blasé. She was so excited, like a little girl.

Embrace the inner child of yours and do what makes you the happiest, share what makes you the happiest, and love the happiness of your life.

“I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.” - Audrey Hepburn
