Hello loves, and welcome to another addition of my blog! Today’s post will be quite special, something that is dear to my heart, and truly evokes the inner child in all of us.

That’s right, loves, we will be time-traveling back to the 50s, and will discuss on how to make the most of your day at Disneyland.

We wish we could experience Disneyland during its earliest years *dreamy sigh* but we can always seek to emulate the timeless charm and the wondrous magic first-time visitors feel when they spend the day at Disneyland.

And what better way to live the fantasy of what makes Disneyland so popular now that makes it captured people’s hearts decades ago?

We will spin on the teacup of the average tourist journey through Disneyland, to give you a rundown on how to make your next Disneyland trip be as vintage as possible. It will be perfect for Dapper day. Take this as a brochure.

We would love to tell more about the history of Disneyland, but we’re afraid you’ll might miss out the fireworks at the end of the night! Here at the happiest place on earth, you can learn how to be the happiest gal.

Take it away Tinker Bell!

Put on your ears and be one with the crowd wearing your finest outfits. We’re talking snitched swing dresses with puff sleeves, a button-up proof collar shirt for the gentlemen, and a Peter pan collar dress for the little darlings. Maybe your little one would like a Davy Crockett hat at the emporium on Main Street USA. Don’t forget, a pair of sunglass and a Parasol, to beat the hot southern California heat. All listed above are the key essentials of looking your best at Disneyland. (also helps with guidelines and policies as well.) We encourage guests to make fashion a statement-that blends in with the vibrant colors and imaginary details. The richness of Disneyland is appealing to the wandering eye. It’s always important to look your best, you never know who you might meet, especially Walt Disney himself!

There is nothing better than walking around fantasyland. Taking in the sights & sounds and stumble upon an opening day attraction. There were only certain attractions running on opening day, for us vintage and Disney fanatics; these special attractions are still here today. Ride on King Arthur Carrousel or a spin in the Mad Tea Party. All you need is faith, trust, & a little bit of pixie dust and you're off to Neverland on Peter Pan’s Flight.

Fly an elephant on Dumbo, The Flying Elephant. Maybe take a ride on Casey Jr. Circus Train, or adventure a fairytale through Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. If those don’t sound like your cup of tea, you can always try to cruise down a river through an expedition you’ll never forget on the Jungle Cruise. Watch out for hippos! Any ride you prefer, you still get the same experience over decades before.

Face a yeti on the Matterhorn Bobsleds or be one with the sky on the Disneyland monorail. Go down a rabbit hole into Alice In Wonderland attraction.

𝐹𝑜𝑜𝒹 & 𝒟𝓇𝒾𝓃𝓀𝓈

The Red Wagon Inn, a restaurant that was open on opening day. Now named as Plaza Inn, serves its famous fried chicken. An ideal delectable meal.

The Coca Cola refreshment corner stills stands across from the Plaza Inn. Back then, You could get yourself a refreshing cold coke for only ten cents! Along with sandwiches. Today, it serves hot dogs, snacks, and of course, coke. (we recommend glass bottles of cokes for that extra vintage flair.)

For a creamy dessert, the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor would serve guests with soft serve swirls of ice cream, Amongst other desserts like cakes & pies. The ice cream parlor was closed and refurbished as Carnation Cafe. Don’t worry, for Disneyland opened a new ice cream parlor called the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street U.S.A.

There were the occasional snack carts, popcorn, candy floss, and peanuts as eateries.

ideally, Disneyland seems to keep the tradition of keeping their old fashion restaurants the same, despite a few changes throughout the century.

others included The Golden Horseshoe with mix food & live entertainment.

Want to stay in the magic after you leave the park? Why not stay at the Disneyland Hotel?

Opening just a couple months after Disneyland, the Disneyland Hotel was a welcomed place for residents to stay after a long day at the park. Opening with 104 rooms, it offered a staggering amount of amenities: an Olympic size swimming pool, a pharmacy, a clinic, stores, barber shop, and a bar. Each room had its own radio,

Uncommon at the time for hotels.

A decade later, the Disneyland monorail would transport guests from the hotel and into Disneyland park itself. Now that’s what we call a highway in the sky!

𝒟𝒾𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌? The Disneyland Hotel was not just any hotel, but a popular hangout spot for classic Hollywood stars.

The magic of Disneyland comes to life as guests got to see their favorite characters: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Davy Crockett, Alice, Snow White, & more. Walt Disney himself filmed for ABC with commentary for a live studio broadcast of the grand opening of Disneyland.

The dapper dans performed various melodies of music, but the showstopper at the end of each night; a ‘kiss goodnight’ is the ever so enchanting nighttime fireworks spectacular ‘Fantasy in the Sky!’

Guests in the 21st century can see their favorite Disney friends around Disneyland in designated areas or at meet and greet locations. Along with eye-catching shows and parades Down Main Street. and to top it all off with fireworks in the sky.

“𝒟𝒾𝓈𝓃𝑒𝓎𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓃𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝒷𝑒 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝓅𝓁𝑒𝓉𝑒𝒹. 𝐼𝓉 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒸𝑜𝓃𝓉𝒾𝓃𝓊𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝑔𝓇𝑜𝓌 𝒶𝓈 𝓁𝑜𝓃𝑔 𝒶𝓈 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝒾𝓈 𝒾𝓂𝒶𝑔𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝓁𝑒𝒻𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓁𝒹.” ~ 𝒲𝒶𝓁𝓉 𝒟𝒾𝓈𝓃𝑒𝓎

Walt Disney was true with his word. Disneyland will continue to create new magic for generations to come. Some of the classic attractions or special features the park once offered were either replaced or updated. New Orleans Square, accompanied by the Pirates of a Caribbean attraction and The Haunted Mansion, was added as an expansion of the park. Rides like Rocket to the Moon, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and the PeopleMover leave a legacy for nostalgic Disney lovers. Right across from Disneyland is home to Disney's second park, (known in the past as the Disneyland parking lot) in Anaheim, is Disney’s California Adventure.

Old or new, there’s one thing that hasn’t changed. The spirit of what makes Disneyland so beloved today is the endless flow of love, care, and dedication it gives to guests. An unforgettable experience to look back on with happy memories. Memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
